The director-general of the World Health organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has accused Taiwan’s government of condoning online abuse he personally received, including racist abuse. The claims have ignited a storm of rebuttals in Taiwan, with President Tsai Ing-wen, foreign minister Joseph Wu, and health minister Chen Shih-chung all protesting the comments.
WHO秘書長譚德塞在記者會上，指控台灣人這三個月來，對他進行網路攻擊，甚至有歧視的言論稱他是黑鬼，點名台灣政府與外交部卻袖手旁觀。外交部嚴正要求譚德塞為不實言論道歉，部長吳釗燮更連發三條Twitter，打臉譚德塞。
